लोन माफ़ी

चुनाव का मौसम है। चुनावी जुमलों की बहार है। नेताजी भुलक्कड़ राम और ठेंगा राम भी बढ़ चढ़कर चुनावी जुमलों की रफ़्तार को कायम रखे हुए हैं। ठेंगा राम ने वादा किया की वो हर तरह के किसानों के ऋण माफ़ कर देंगे। भुलक्कड़ राम कहाँ पीछे रहने वाले थे। उन्होंने भी वादा कर दिया की वो हर तरह के किसानो का हर तरह का ऋण माफ़ कर देंगे। जनता ने जोर से तालियां भी बजा दी।

इन वादों में हमे अपने लिए आशा की किरण नजर आयी। मगर ऋण की माफ़ी के लिए ऋण  लेना पड़ेगा तो आनन फानन में हम अपने बैंक में पहुँच गएऔर सीधे बैंक की रिसेप्शनिस्ट के सामने विराजमान हो गए।

Penny Wise Pound Foolish

Shyam slips his hand in his trouser pocket and feels the emboss on the paper. It's the last five hundred rupee note left with him. He makes his finger to travel along the edge of the currency if by chance there is more than one. Unfortunately, it is the last one.

The background music has now become cacophonous, though it is still drumming one of his favourites. As the evening has slipped into night, Shyam is becoming more irritated with the jockey and at times rebuked him in loud voice. Jockey ignored him all along. It's not new for the jockey.

नेताजी ठेंगा राम

ठेंगा राम शहर के जाने माने नेता हैं | फ़िलहाल शहर का राज्य के विधानसभा में भी प्रतिनीधित्व करते हैं | वैसे उनका नाम ठेंगा राम नहीं है मगर शहर की आम बोलचाल की भाषा में इसी नाम से जाने जाते हैं | असली नाम क्या है ये महत्वपूर्ण भी नहीं इस कहानी के लिए | नाम पड़ने की भी एक खास वजह है | चुनाव से पहले राम राम करते हैं और चुनाव के बाद ठेंगा दिखा देता हैं | शहर के पास बहुत विकल्प भी नहीं हैं | अगर ठेंगा राम को न चुना जाये तो दूसरा विकल्प भुल्लकड़ राम का है | वो तो भूल ही जाते हैं की उनका चुनाव शहर की प्रगति और उन्नति के लिए हुआ है | ये भी संयोग है की ठेंगा राम की पत्नी का नाम प्रगति और भुल्लकड़ राम की पत्नी का नाम उन्नति है और उनका विकास दिन दुनि रात चौगनी गति से हो रहा है | अब तो दोनों मोहतरमाओं ने अपने ही घर में जिम बनवा लिया है ताकि विकास को नियंत्रित किया जा सके |

Only God Knows

Adwait looked at the golden embossed nameplate on his table. Adwait Sinha on the first line and Chairman on the second line. Looking at those lines always brought a thrill in him. He reflected back on his life and the hard work he did to reach to this position. He built his business empire from nowhere. The chairman of Ajorra group of companies, which runs tens of  different kinds of business, from a IT company to a real estate company. Ajorra is the name of his village deity. 

His life was no fairy tale. He did his primary education in the dilapidated school building. At that time he was not even sure of what purpose does school serves in life. He had seen his father and uncle toiling on farms. There were only passing references about farming in his school books. He was sharp so kept on scoring high in the studies, so someone suggested him to go to city to do further studies. By that time he became focussed towards the idea of gaining more knowledge and for the same, he left the village and came to city to live with his Uncle. In city also he kept on scoring high in academics and in a matter of time he did his doctorate from a reputed US university. After completing his education he joined one of the big company in USA.
